Improv Quilting Workshop Wednesday 6/15, 6-9pm

  • $ 45.00
    Unit price per

You and your sewing machine can create a completely original patchwork with no pattern! Improv piecing is fun free-form play with colors and shapes. You will learn the useful basics of improv piecing, with squares, rectangles, triangles, and curves.

Improv piecing is like working a puzzle with an unexpected outcome! It's really fun to let go and get in the flow, and see where your sewing leads you. The patchwork you create can then be incorporated into a variety of different sewing projects, like a mini quilt, pillow, zipper pouch, tote bag, or even garments! You can use random scraps or choose a color pallet.

This 3 hour workshop is $45, materials not included. For teens and adults.

Use scraps, fat quarters or yardage you have at home. You will want the equivalent of about a yard of scraps. If using Fat Quarters, grab 4 or 5. You can choose a specific color palette, or pull random colors and prints- anything goes!

Tools: Sewing Machine, basic sewing supplies, scissors and/or rotary cutter, acrylic ruler and cutting mat, if you have them. Starch is also good to have when working with patchwork.

Pre-requisite: Absolute Beginning Sewing, or equivalent experience. You just need to know how to use a machine.

Reservations are required and space is limited. Sign up online to secure your spot!
